AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is an attacking player. She also serves as the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she served as co-captain for America's women's national soccer squad with Megan Rapinoe. After graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her debut in professional football and was a part of the team's success in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest player in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. She scored the winning goal in the match against Canada during the 123rd minute of the semi-final at the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals and 21 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same year, making her the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
